Scott Snyder Presents: The CloakRoom #2 NOW LIVE!

Scott’s been in the comics news a lot lately. He’s returning to DC Comics, and along with Joshua Williamson, is running a new “Universe” with a spin on some of our favorite superheroes.

Somehow, Scott has this going on, while also producing books for DSTLRY, and Amazon, and while running the writers’ room for WYTCHES… and he still has time to create engaging classes through his own Substack, Our Best Jackett.

When I started taking Scott’s class, a group of students including Ben O’Grady, CK Lawson, and Aubrey Lyn Jeppson had put together an anthology project called Tales From The Cloakroom. One of the stories got an Eisner nomination that year.

The following year, a different group (Logan Rodgers, JB Hawkins, and Jason Holtzman) did the same thing. Another 18 new stories in Volume 2 of Tales From The Cloakroom.

Then Veronica Howell and I took over the project. We wanted to keep it rolling on an ongoing basis, so rather than try to get 15-20 stories lined up before printing, we decided to publish smaller issues, and to do it more frequently. Our first Kickstarter campaign funded in February, and we delivered that issue with 7 stories and about 60 pages of comics.

This project is a fantastic way to support indie creators. Any profits are shared by the creators. Veronica and I do not take a cut - we just recoup expenses and pass along profits. These are writers who are just starting their comics journey, and often this is their first time getting published. Your pledges go directly towards ensuring that more and more up-and-coming creators have this anthology to rely on for years to come.
